Government of Tamil Nadu has been implementing various Initiatives / schemes for the development of sports in Tamil Nadu. In order to encourage sportspersons from Tamil Nadu who have participated in Olympics and other International Level competitions and won medals are being offered employment
in Government Departments / Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under 3% reservation as per Government order.
Hence, as per G.O. Ms. No.6, Youth Welfare and Sports Development (S1) Department, Dated 20.02.2019 the following notification for Employment in Government Departments / Public Sector Undertakings Under 3% Reservation Sports Quota is being issued now.
Achievements in the following Competition / Tournaments made during the last 5 years preceding the year of application only will be considered as eligible for employment under this scheme. It is informed that the eligibility criteria for team sports are that the sportspersons must have participated in at least 50% of the games played in the State Level competition by the team in the respective tournament.
International Competitions: (Medalist / Participants)
➢ Summer Olympic Games
➢ Commonwealth Games,
➢ Asian Games,
➢ World Championships conducted, either once in 4 years or once in 2 years or annually, by International Sports Federation (ISF) recognised by International Olympic Committee (IOC).
➢ Commonwealth Championships conducted, either once in 4 years or once
in 2 years or annually, under aegis of ISF recognised by IOC.
➢ Asian Championships conducted, either once in 4 years or once in 2 years
or annually under aegis of ISF recognised by IOC.
➢ South Asian Federation Games (SAF Games).
➢ Paralympic Games.
➢ Asian Para Games
➢ International Blind Sports Association (IBSA) World Games and
Deaflympics organised by International Committee of Sports for the Deaf
