Sub: Loans and Advances – Motor Vehicle Advances to Government Employees – Purchase of e-vehicles -Regarding.

Ref: 1. G.O.Ms.No.27, Finance (Salaries) Department, dated: 20.01.2021.

2. Letter No. 42495 / HB2 / 2021, Transport Department, dated: 29.01.2022 85 22.06.2022.

In the Government order first cited, the Government had orders were issued fixing the quantum of advance for monetary limit for purchase of motor cars and motorized two wheelers and Revision of eligibility criteria to Government employees and All India Service Officers.

2. After the issuance of the above there has been tremendous expansion of the vehicles market and new brands are introduced day by day. On the basis of the modern tendency some of the Government employees demanded for purchase of e-vehicles.

3. The Transport Commissioner has opined that the battery operated vehicles which in turn reduce CO2 emissions and resulting reduction in Global warming. Hence it is recommended to provide advances for the purchase of Electric Vehicles.

4. The Government therefore direct that the Electric Vehicles (e-vehicles) shall be included under motor vehicles category for the purpose of sanctioning motor conveyance advance to Government employees.
