Odisha Government Hikes Dearness Allowance (DA) to 60%, Benefiting 8.5 Lakh Employees and Pensioners
Bhubaneswar: In a major welfare move, the Odisha State Government has announced a 2% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees and Dearness Relief (TI/Temporary Increase) for its pensioners. With this latest revision, the total DA and TI for state beneficiaries will rise from 58% to 60%.
The official announcement was shared by the state’s Information & Public Relations (I & PR) Department, marking a significant financial relief for government staff.
Key Highlights of the Announcement
- The Hike Percentage: A flat 2% increase in both Dearness Allowance (DA) for active employees and Temporary Increase (TI) for pensioners.
- New Revised Rate: The allowance has been officially elevated from 58% to 60%.
- Retrospective Implementation: The hike will come into effect retrospectively from January 1, 2026.
- Immediate Cash Payout: The arrears and the increased amount will be disbursed entirely in cash along with the current month’s salary and pension cycles.

This decision by the state administration is set to provide a substantial financial boost to a vast workforce. Approximately 8.5 lakh individuals, including active state government employees and retired pensioners, are slated to directly benefit from this enhanced payout.
